19th National Folklore Festival Sparks from the Past

The National Folklore Festival Sparks from the Past – Apriltsi village, takes place in the end of July with the participation of ensembles from the whole country. For two consecutive days folklore groups for songs and dances, ensembles, folk customs, individual performers and folk clubs take part. There is no age restriction. The holiday has built traditions and promises to please every spectator who has found time to visit the city during the days of the event. About 120 amateur teams with 1700 participants show the Bulgarian customs and traditions that have been preserved up to now. Last year participants were from Silistra, Rousse, Veliko Tarnovo, Lovech, and Pleven regions.
