The National Folklore Festival of Treated Folk People “Rila is watching us”, in the town of Dupnitsa has just become a member of the big family of CIOFF – International Council of Organizers of Festivals of Folklore and Traditional Arts at UNESCO, after being admitted to the section of clubs studying Bulgarian folk people to CIOFF-Bulgaria. This is an extremely high recognition for the forum, organized by the Municipality of Dupnitsa and Zora 1858 Community Center, Dupnitsa and taking place under the auspices of the mayor of the town.
The aim of the festival is to revive the interest in the Bulgarian folklore, to preserve and promote the authentic Bulgarian folklore and to stimulate its development nowadays, to support the creative contacts and to enrich the repertoire of the folklore groups.
The “Rila is watching us” festival has a competitive character. Dance groups, ensembles and dance groups studying folklore have the right to participate; vocal groups and ensembles performing Bulgarian folk songs.
