Each participant have to present a homemade dish, served in a clay pot, a bowl or a tray. Meals are evaluated in categories by an expert jury- soups, main dishes and desserts. The presentation of the wonderful Dobrudjan dishes culminates as per old Bulgarian custom with a feast – fish soup and fried fish.
The “Cooking of Dobrudja” Culinary Festival is organized by the Municipality of Silistra, the Municipality of Srebarna and the Chitalishte “Vazrazhdane – 1940”. The event is held for the seventh consecutive year, under the patronage of the Mayor of Silistra Municipality, and is part of the cultural calendar. The attractive folklore and culinary event gather people from all Dobrudja region, Romania, retirement clubs, informal groups and individual participants.
The program of the festival includes nominations in the categories: a contest of Dobroudja dishes, creative workshops and a children’s cooking workshop.
The folklore program includes dance and singing performances.
