Since its start in 2005, European Museum Night has attracted a large audience to a growing number of museums each year. In 2019, 3,200 museums from 30 European countries took part in the event.
Created in a festive spirit, European Museum Night aims to promote the richness of the shared cultural heritage such as museum collections and to attract new audiences, especially young people.
In Bulgaria, since 2006, the French Institute has organized the event in Sofia in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Sofia Municipality and with the support of many companies.
This year, the Night of Museums will be held on November 14 in compliance with the current COVID-19 restriction. It will include more than 25 museums and galleries, which will present exhibitions, workshops, screenings and art events.
Admission is free.
