The National feast in Yambol is held every year at Christmas. Its aim is to popularize the traditions of Bulgarians related to the winter folk customs, to educate the national self-consciousness and to strengthen the national identity through the eternal Bulgarian song and dance folklore heritage. The festival has a competitive character – a jury of ethnographers and folklorists appreciate the performances of the groups and award the awards on behalf of the organizers.
