Festival "Light and Hope", Plovdiv

The festive December enters the Old Town with mood, smiles and Christmas bells. On 3 December, the Municipal Institute “Ancient Plovdiv” will mark the start of the traditional holidays with the motto “Light and hope”.
The Christmas tree will shine in the area of ​​Lapidarium at 17:30 on December 3, as usual with the participation of representatives of all ethnicity. The holiday event marathon is free and includes exhibitions, concerts, free workshops for the smallest and many surprises. At the Roman Stadium, the Plovdiv residents and the guests of the town will enjoy a concert featuring Gospel chore from the Medical University – Plovdiv, the vocal groups “Yerazanak” and “Sirun”, as well as the formation for authentic folklore “Kuklici”.
Special attention is paid to the children! On Dec. 7, in the Little Basilica at 6 pm, “Tales under the Lamps” will start, a unique event that will bring the spirit to Christmas thanks to the lamps of Nikolay Tabakov and Storyteller Konstantin Kiril Ivanov. The tales will be read in front of families, a glass of warm drink will be offered from Casa Kakau.
December is a month of gifts and surprises, and the handmade gifts are the best, so the Ancient Plovdiv invites all children on the 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th of December, when the Christmas workshops start at 10 : 00 pm in Klianti house. Under the expert guidance of the team of a boutique workshop for languages ​​”Papagali” will be made cards, toys, sourvakki, all this accompanied by Christmas fairy tales and songs.
