The festival starts in 2003, and every year it is conducted on the last weekend of November. The celebration is organized by “Asen Zlatarov”Community Center, Smilyan. The village is famous for the production of big salad beans. During the celebration some competitions are organized – for best producer, for hanging from beans, and for culinary dish of beans.
Amateur groups, of the community center, perform a program of themed sketches associated with the cultivation and processing of beans, as a traditional livelihood.
For all guests and participants there are many surprises: exhibitions, competitions, contests, ect. There are competitions for producer of the year, for the most delicious dishes, and even the most beautiful mural made of beans.
