Every year in Nessebar is held a Festival of honey with international participation. It takes place in Messambria Square in Old Nessebar.Honey is a natural product with extremely rich chemical composition. Bee products are necessary for man as food, healing, dietary and cosmetics. Within the framework of the festival, discussions are being held on topics such as the development and funding of beekeeping, prophylaxis and health care of bees during the different seasons, technologies and novelties in the medical application of honey – apitherapy.
At the end of August and beginning of September Nessebar hosted the annual International Honey Festival.
