The fifth festival will take place in Velingrad from the 7th to the 9th August, on three stages. Here foreign cultural institutes will participate. For example Russia, Italy, Macedonia and Chez Republic. Something new for the festival is the visit of “Anima-art” and the animations that will take prizes. In the festival there are several competitions – “Films – performance and concerts”, “Film portraits”, “Music reports”, “Videos”, “Music for children”.
This year during the festival we will pay tribute to professor Alexander Yanakiev. To whom is dedicated a special retrospective called “The Bulgarian music film”.
In three days, the audience will enjoy opera stars like Nicolay Ghiaurov, Boris Hristov, Mirella Freny, Rayna Kabaivanska, Magdalena Kozhena, Alexandrina Pendanchanska and many more.
The children’s movie night includes animations from “Golden Kuker”. The special guest of the night will be Vera Tomova, who will perform for the children “The singing alphabet”.
In the “Tzveta Shumanova” Gallery, we can enjoy the exhibition “In the Dawn of the European Civilization” which will be opened by Zapranka Krysteva (archaeologist in History Museum, Asenovgrad). This exhibition has already been shown in New Your City.
The official opening of the International Festival For The Musical “Nicolay Ghiaurov” is on the 7th of August at 11 o’clock right in front of the town hall.
