National Festival of the Old Urban Song “With songs from silk – passed years”

The Fifth edition of the National Festival of the Old Urban song “With a song from silk – passed years” takes place in the beginning of October in Svilengrad. Organizers of the event are the Municipality of Svilengrad and the Chitalishte “Vasil Levski 1933”.

The festival is of a competitive nature, as participants can be individual performers, singing groups, duets for an old urban song and quartets. They compete in 4 categories: duets, quartets, singing groups, individual performers …

There is no fee for participation in the festival. Each participant receives a certificate for participation and the winners in the different categories are awarded with medals. A special prize is awarded – a statuette. Four special prizes are provided. The special awards are for song-coming, for the most attractive apparel, the youngest performer and instrumentalist.
