Promoting the natural phenomenon “Bororodichna stapka” and the rich cultural and historical heritage in the area of Stara Zagora Baths is the goal of the National Thracian Folkloric Assembly “Bogorodichna Stapka”, which takes place in Stara Zagora Baths. The National Resort and Spa Resort is located 15 km from Stara Zagora, at the foothill of the Sredna Gora Mountain. Its purpose is to preserve the Bulgarian folk traditions and customs – a source of the constant power of the Bulgarian root and spirit bearing the messages of our national culture.
The councils take part:
- Groups representing folk traditions and customs – a custom within 10 minutes.
- singing and instrumental groups performing original folklore – up to two works – with a total duration of 5 to 8 minutes.
- folk dance groups and ensembles – a program within 10 minutes.
- individual performers of folk art (up to two colleagues) – total duration of up to 5 minutes for each artist.
Within the framework of the festival there is a “Village Court” – an independent stage where the visiting formations can present outside the contest part typical for the region rituals and customs, but without any time limitation. Culinary and other events are organized.
The stages of the festival are located in the central parks of Stara Zagora Baths. The jury will award to the best performing teams and individual participants a plaque and a diploma for contribution to the preservation and promotion of our traditional culture.
