Sun, October 07, 2018 - Wed, October 24, 2018
Cinema House, Sofia Live Club, Sofia

Описание

Instituto Cervantes and Jazz Plus concerts organize the III Olé Festival for new music from Spain and Latin America.
As in the previous two successful editions, the festival will show the Bulgarian audience the latest from the Spanish-Spanish panorama: from Flamenco and Jazz to Psychedelic Rock. The most important is that this festival shows only high-quality music.
There will be held also a cinema program with 4 films emphasizing the music and the dance.

Program
– ANTONIO SERRANO & ANTONIO SANCHEZ: 11 October, 20:00.
Flamenco jazz. In memory of Paco de Lucia.
An unforgettable performance in memory of legendary flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucia presented by Antonio Serrano (harmonica) and Antonio Sanchez (guitar) – the most outstanding musicians since his last septet. They’ve performed with the great guitarist and shared years full of music and experiences.
The concert in Sofia will present emblematic themes, playing with Paco de Lucia, as well as compositions inspired by the personality of the genius guitarist and related to the documentary Paco de Lucia: The Search, directed by Francisco Sanchez (Goya Award for Best Director, good documentary 2015). The film is included in the Olé Festival’s accompanying program!

MARIA TORO: 18 October, 20:00.
The flutist Maria Toro composes her music by combining it with tradition elements. In the past five years, she has performed in Spain, Switzerland, the United States and Brazil, where she lives.
In Sofia she will present her first album “A Contraluz” (2014), composed in Switzerland, sounded in different European cities and recorded in New York (2017). In Brazil, while presenting his first CD, she composes his second album “Araras” (2018).
Starting from flamenco and growing up in jazz, Maria Toro draws her way into her own musical language. Her constant trips allow her to be inspired by musicians in different parts of the world. Whether playing with great European musicians or being on the jazz stage in New York or Brazil, Toro’s flute is specific. Recognizable from the first playful note, Maria Toro manages to combine her talent to compose with exceptional arrangements and a quality musical product. Regardless of whom she goes on stage, she has her handwriting, and it is entirely true for her – music knows no boundaries..

Quentin Gas & amp; Los Zíngaros are a psychedelic rock band from Seville. They invite us on a trip through the south and its majesty, on a walk in the dry southern Spanish lands, on a flight through the multicolored heavens of psychedelics. Critics define their album “Caravana” as one of the most interesting musical proposals of the year for the general public. The Sevilla rookies promise a great experience with their psychedelic flamenco rock and invite us to fly over time.
