In mid-December, the sixth edition of the largest literary event in the capital will take place. So far, 200 writers and poets from 24 countries have participated in the Sofia International Literary Festival. The forum gathers together Bulgarian and world authors and creates space for meeting the literature and cultures of different countries.
The main structural line of the sixth Sofia International Literary Festival are the topics and trends of German-language literature, which will be included in the entire program of the Festival. Some of the most interesting and significant contemporary authors from Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein will meet the audience of the Literary Festival together with Bulgarian writers and poets.
At the same time, the Sofia International Book Fair is traditionally held. The 46th edition will pass under the slogan: “Four Countries – One Language, dedicated to the German-speaking countries Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein and Switzerland, which this year will be Honored Guests of the event.
The International Program 2018
Political, social, analytical and committed literature will have a unifying character for this year’s foreign program of the Literary Festival, devoted entirely to German-language contemporary literature.
Among the guests of this edition will be the famous Austrian writer and essayist Robert Menace, the writer Christoph Heine, the Swiss artists Lucas Berfus and Jonas Lusher, the German author Sherco Fatah and others.
