The biggest literary event in Bulgaria – Sofia International Literature Festival – will welcome guests between November 25 and December 12. The third edition of the festival will be devoted to the literature of the Iberian peninsula and promise meetings with some of the most famous contemporary European writers and book titles. Over the past two years SMLF has hosted more than 100 authors from Bulgaria, the Balkans and North Scandinavia.
This year, the festival will preserve the structure and it will be divided into two main parts. From November 25 to December 7 will be held program that includes presentations of poetry, debuts, discussions, music, theater and exhibitions.
For the first time will be organized a competition for young artists (max 35 years) for prose, poetry, essay, illustration and photography on “Duende, anxiety, pleasure.” The poets Marin Bodakov, Sylvia Choleva, Kamen Spassov and artist Kiril Zlatkov will select 9 authors and 6 visual works which will be presented on 25 November in National Palace of Culture.
The festival will take place in the marble lobby in National Palace of Culture, and in two more new locations – a space for contemporary dance and performance National Palace of Culture and new literary space “The Pen”.
