For 28 years the inhabitants of Salmanovo village have organized The Day of Watermelon, at the end of August. This year the event will be held August 23, 18h, at the village park.
The organizers provides games for all age groups, and many competitions. For The Watermelon Day are invited all the inhabitants and Bulgarian producers of fruits and vegetables.
“Hot summer, sweet watermelon” is a competition for children’s drawing. Another interesting competition is the one for the bigger watermelon.
By an old tradition, every year a market – exhibition is organized, and all the dishes in this event are home-made by the women in Salmanovo.
There will be and a music program – folklore songs will sound for all festival guests, played by local ensembles.
