For the fifth year, Peshtera hosts the International Ethno-Cultural Festival “Culture of the Future and the Future of Culture”. Other countries, including Bulgaria, also participate in the ethnofest. The attractive festival is one of the key events in the city’s cultural calendar during the summer.
The first night begins with parade of participants in art clubs who marsh through M.Takev Street, the main street to the stage of “Bulgaria” Square, where they perform short concerts. The entrance to the events is free. A rich parallel cultural program is organized for the visiting groups of the festival, which includes a tour of the sights of Peshtera as well as important sites in the region.
The event has become a tradition for the cultural life of Peshtera. It is a long-awaited holiday for residents and guests of the city on hot summer days. The festival is part of the Cultural Events Calendar of the municipality and every year there are folk groups from all over the world, presenting with a lot of beauty, talent and good mood, an unforgettable fairy of color and rhythms. Some of the best folk, musical and dance ensembles travel thousands of kilometers to show the beauty and uniqueness of their country’s folklore to residents and guests.
