XXII National festival “The Rhythm of my heart”

National dance festival “The Rhythm of my heart” will be held for twelfth time this year.  The festival will take place at National community center “Sveta Sofia – 1997”, “Sredec” area, Sofia on the 24th and 25th of March. The event is free of charge.

The two-day festival starts every day at 9:00 am and ends at 8:00 pm. The participants will be evaluated by jury consisted of established dance professionals.

Every year, almost hundred of kids and youngsters from all over the country participate in the festival. For the awards they will compete in three different age groups: First group – to 9 y/o, Second group – from 10 to 14 y/o and Third group – over 15 y/o.

The dances are divided in 6 categories: classic, typical (different national dances, including oriental dances), street dances (Hip Hop, Breakdance, Popping, Locking, Freestyle, Disco, Techno, etc.), modern and entertaining (Contemporary dance, Modern, Lyrical dance, Jazz, Ethno, other programs , variety shows, animations, etc.), Bulgarian traditional dances and dances in pairs (standard and latino dances: salsa, merengue, bachata, tango, swing, acro-show in pairs, etc.).

Prizes for the first places are – 150 BGN, second places – 100 BGN and third places – 50 BGN, for all categories except for the pair participants, where the awards for the first places are 50 BGN, second places – 30 BGN and third places – 20 BGN

National community center “Sveta Sofia – 1997” has special awards for best choreography, best performance, best costume, best performance technique and debutes.

Additional cash prize of 100 BGN for tutors with performers in different age groups. Special awards for talent  2018 – will be served by Association interest center „COSMOS”.
