International Music Festival Laureate Days Katya Popova was founded in 1966 as an annual music festival featuring laureates. Since its third edition, the festival has been named after the opera prima Katia Popova (1924 – 1966), one of the founders and a participant in the first edition. The Laureate Days present the achievements of the new generation in European and world performing mastership, the successes of the Bulgarian singing and instrumental school. The Katya Popova Music Festival takes place in every two years, with no less than 5 evening concerts.
